Morgan's Home Page

I know many of you won't be able to believe it, but I've been moved to update Morgan's web page again this month and hope to maintain an almost monthly schedule. You can still see past pages here --> [April '96] [January '96] [August '95]

She's standing on her own for a few seconds at a time now. She crawls without even considering the idea. And does it at extremely high speed. Her ability to get into difficulty is greatly increased by these skills. She's just as extraverted as ever and tires me out with her energy and interest in people.

She's got her own sleeping bag, wetsuit, life vest and is looking forward to her first canoe trip at the end of the month with her dad, Uncle Dave, Aunt Heather, and other friends. We don't know where yet, but Dad is voting for the shortest portages. Canoe hikes with water obstacles are not fun.

She helps with the paper bin in the kitchen, spreading it as far as she can for as long as she can. This activity is only disrupted to empty all of the cans out of the cupboard next door or remove as many magnets as possible from the fridge. Examining the inside of the fridge is fun too, but has the risk of being shut inside where it's cold, so she tends to moove when the door swings closed.

That's all for now. On to the photo gallery -- this month featuring Morgan's world!

Good Morning...

This is where Morgan sleeps now because the house has so much stuff in it. We put her in the bag and hang her in the closet. It's very handy and because it's dark in the bag she sleeps longer. ;-)

Helping Mom with the dishes

An important part of Morgan's responsibilities now that she is 10.5 months old is sweeping up after supper. She eats anything that falls on the ground. Not as good as curry, but it'll do in a pinch. Often things that weren't interesting on a spoon take on a new dimension once they've been stepped on.

The Creature In the Bath

Morgan likes the bath, but not as much as she likes cameras. Splash, splash... oh I must have that... now! Morgan has since graduated from the little bath to the big one. She has a mat so she can stand without falling and crushing her ducks. There is also more room for chasing the manta ray around. Her favourite bath activity by far is sucking on her washcloth.

Morgan's World

Welcome to Morgan's world. Not many of us spend time at an altitude of 28" above floor level, but Morgan spends most of her day there. If you thought Beth looked big from your perspective, you should try looking at the Mega-Momma. Look up... way up.

Cats are meaningful companions at this altitude. Unfortunately they don't stick around long after they spot you. The food they leave, however, is very interesting, if a bit crunchier than the normal fare.

And oh, the wonderful tidbits that can be found. Furballs. Transfers. Bits of leftover lunch. Blocks. Cat toys and maybe even a spoon! Oh joy, oh bliss.
